Dear Sister, You Are Allowed to Rest
(Part 3 — From Survival to Surrender)
There comes a moment when survival is no longer your language.
When striving grows quiet.
When your heart begins to breathe again.
This is that place.
Rest is not something you reach after doing everything right.
It is not a reward for being strong enough, patient enough, faithful enough.
Rest is a gift.
For a long time, I thought rest would come after healing.
After understanding everything.
After becoming whole.
But God showed me something different.
He showed me that rest is not the end of the journey
it is the ground where healing continues.
Jesus says:
“Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
— Matthew 11:28
Not when you are ready.
Not when you are perfect.
Now.
Rest is not giving up.
It is trusting God enough to stop carrying what was never yours to hold.
In the Lord’s rest, you begin to learn:
That peace does not mean forgetting
That God teaches you when to step back and when to stay
That softness is not weakness
That your identity is not shaped by what hurt you
You are not your past.
You are not your wounds.
You are not the strength you had to build to survive.
You are His daughter.
And daughters are allowed to rest.
Living from rest means you no longer move from fear,
you move from trust.
You no longer rush,
you are led.
You no longer strive,
you remain.
This doesn’t mean life becomes easy.
It means you are no longer alone in it.
Resting in the Lord is a daily choice.
In prayer.
In stillness.
In surrender.
Not because you are tired of living,
but because you trust Him with your life.
If you are here now, reading this, receive this reminder:
You are allowed to rest.
With love,
Your Sister 🤍
