Dear Sister,
If you are reading this, maybe your heart is carrying something heavy.
Maybe you are trying to move forward… but the past still whispers to you.
Maybe you are healing after abuse and some days feel harder than others.
That’s real.
But today, gently and truthfully,
I want to tell you something you may have forgotten:
It was not your fault.
✦
Not the way they spoke to you.
Not the way they touched you.
Not the way they controlled you, confused you, or made you feel small.
Abuse is not love.
And you did not deserve any of it.
I know how easy it is to question yourself,
to replay moments, to carry guilt that was never yours.
But sister…
that shame does not belong to you.
✦
You are not what happened to you.
You are not the names you were called.
You are not the pain you endured.
You are still whole…
even if you feel broken.
✦
God saw everything.
Every tear you cried in silence.
Every moment you felt afraid.
Every time your heart didn’t feel safe.
Nothing in your story is hidden from Him.
And the Word says:
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” — Psalm 34:18
This means… in your most fragile moments,
God did not move away from you.
He came closer.
✦
Healing is not a straight line.
Some days you feel strong.
Some days you feel like you are starting again.
Some days you remember things you wish you could forget.
And that does not mean you are failing.
It means you are healing.
✦
Give yourself permission:
• To feel
• To cry
• To rest
• To take your time
You do not need to rush your healing to prove your strength.
There is strength in staying.
Strength in rebuilding.
Strength in choosing peace.
✦
And slowly… gently… God will restore you.
He will rebuild your identity.
He will renew your mind.
He will remind you of your worth.
Not based on what someone did to you,
but based on who you are to Him.
You are loved.
You are chosen.
You are His.
✦
A Prayer for Healing
Dear God,
You see my heart and everything I have been through.
You know the pain I don’t always have words for.
Heal what still hurts.
Restore what was broken.
Give me peace where there was fear.
And remind me every day that I am loved and protected by You.
Walk with me in this healing journey.
Step by step.
Amen.
✦
Sister, your story is not over.
What tried to break you
will not define you.
With God…
you will rise, heal, and become whole again.
And one day, you will look back and see:
You were never weak.
You were healing.
With love,
Josefina✦
